Responsibilities - Promote the Mission and Standards of Answers in Genesis

- Guest engagement in the zoo and the greater attraction
- Ensure safety of guests, animals, and fellow staff members in performance of job
- Ensure designated areas are clean and free of clutter
- Follow all SOPs to ensure safe day to day operation of the zoo
- Follow all state and federal animal welfare regulations (USDA)
- Collaborate with the Animal Health Manager and the zoo section leaders to schedule routine maintenance for the animal collection
- Maintains drug inventory and supply
- Maintains medical and laboratory areas and ensure equipment is clean and maintained to OSHA and USDA/ZAA standards
- Manage animal records and ensures the maintenance and quality of animal records for use in the management and development of husbandry and breeding programs
- Serve as a liaison and information source to other zoo departments of animal records and related issues
- Enter and maintain all procedure records accurately in Animal Care
- Assist in quarantine care; hand-raising and training animals when necessary and appropriate
- Develop and nurture professional relationships with all Zoo team members
- Ability to work a wide range of animals from invertebrates to hoofstock
And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications Requirements - Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Education & Experience - Associate or bachelor's degree an animal science or related field
- 2 years' experience working in an animal care field
- Previous animal health experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn records system
