Position Summary As a computational biologist at the Pancreatic Cancer Center for Excellence (PCCE), in close collaboration with bioinformaticians, biological scientists, and biotechnology technicians, you will focus on analyzing bulk, single-cell and spatial multi-omics data sets from pancreatic cancer patient tumors and disease models to investigate the gene function and regulatory networks driving the tumor and shaping its microenvironment. You will work with the data science and the biological lab teams to generate and analyze results of high-throughput assays to identify molecular mechanisms underpinning pancreatic-cancer tumorigenesis, progression, treatment resistance and metastasis. You must possess knowledge and have hands-on experience in analyzing sequencing data sets such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, DNase-seq, scRNA_seq, scATAC-seq, HiC, and GeoMx Spatial transcriptomics data sets. You must know molecular biology techniques like PCR, next-generation sequencing techniques (for example, library preparation for bulk and single-cell RNA-seq), histology, and flow cytometry. The candidate must be enthusiastic about preparing solutions, reagents, and media for cell culture and implementing computational biology workflows to address outstanding biological questions and generate meaningful insights into pancreatic cancer research. You must also possess the ability to adapt to project changes related to scope, schedule, workflow and/or system/process optimization needs as appropriate.
