Job Description

Inventory Manager

The Inventory Manager will play a pivotal role in refining and optimizing our financial operations. This role is responsible for designing and implementing effective strategies for managing both inventory and fixed assets, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and providing vital insights to executive leadership.

This highly impactful and visible role demands close collaboration across departments such as supply chain, operations, and finance to ensure seamless integration between asset management, inventory control, and broader organizational goals. The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with expertise in costing practices, capital expenditure planning, and process optimization, while constantly seeking ways to enhance financial operations. The role involves managing a team of two analysts, driving accountability, and ensuring the implementation of solid controls, efficient workflows, and reliable reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset and Inventory Management:

    • Oversee and enhance inventory valuation, costing strategies, and reconciliation processes.

    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory levels, including work-in-progress, raw materials, and finished goods.

    • Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to improve inventory tracking and control mechanisms.

    • Manage the fixed asset ledger, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.

    • Supervise CAPEX tracking and reporting, ensuring alignment with project budgets and approvals.

  • Process Improvement & ERP Implementation:

    • Lead the transition from Sage to Oracle Fusion ERP, ensuring smooth data migration and reporting efficiency.

    • Identify process inefficiencies and lead efforts for process standardization and automation.

    • Develop and implement clear policies, controls, and reconciliation procedures to improve accuracy and consistency.

    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to promote alignment and break down silos across teams.

  • Leadership & Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

    • Lead and mentor a team of two analysts, fostering professional development and high performance.

    • Act as a strategic partner to finance, operations, and supply chain departments, ensuring alignment of financial goals.

    • Provide monthly financial reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

    • Oversee asset purchase approvals and ensure they align with budgetary controls and organizational priorities.

  • Strategic Reporting & Planning:

    • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory and asset management, providing actionable insights for leadership.

    • Lead the annual and quarterly budgeting processes for CAPEX and inventory.

    • Implement strategies to reduce excess or obsolete inventory, optimizing working capital.

    • Support capital allocation decisions with detailed balance sheet and cash flow analysis.

    • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance in all asset and inventory management processes.

    • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.

  • Other Duties:

    • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • A Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

    • A CPA or CMA certification is preferred, but not mandatory.

    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on asset and inventory management.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong expertise in costing methodologies, CAPEX planning, and financial controls.

    • Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams to drive process improvements.

    • Proficiency with ERP systems (Sage preferred; Oracle Fusion experience is a plus).

    • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting tools.

    • Ability to challenge traditional processes and advocate for continuous improvements.

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and a problem-solving approach.

  • Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment screenings.

  • Proficiency in spoken English is required.
