Base Rate: $19.64
Performance Pay: Available annually
New hire experience: 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum
New hire education: 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
Class/Calendar: B21, 12 months
Hours: Part-time (29 hours per week)

OVERVIEW: To assist in the cleaning, repairing and maintenance of district instruments; to deliver and pick-up district instruments for repair; and to maintain inventory and accurate recordkeeping of musical instruments.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High school education or equivalent; mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
- Two years repair experience in the repair, refurbishing and maintenance of musical instruments or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
- Knowledge of repair procedures for band and orchestra instruments preferred
- Skilled in the use of repair tools (i.e. drill press, lathe, grinders, etc) and repair techniques
- Possess, or ability to obtain, valid Arizona driver's license
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, E-mail, etc)
- Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, assess and perform needed repairs
- Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative and meet deadlines with an accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions, change in assignments and minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with teachers, students, district personnel at all levels, and outside agencies
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Respond to work order requests for service to district musical instruments throughout the district
- Troubleshoot and perform routine repair and maintenance on district musical instruments
- Assist in maintaining preventive maintenance on district musical instruments
- Deliver and/or pick-up musical instruments at schools/sites to ensure timeliness of service
- Maintain computerized inventory of musical instruments and order replacement parts to ensure adequate supply inventory and availability
- Inspect and tag new and used musical instruments and equipment to ensure inventory availability
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping to ensure reliable retrieval of data; conduct inventories and accurately prepare needed reports
- Assist with other instrument repair as required
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
