Nurse Practitioner – Provide Critical Care in a Correctional Setting
Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner passionate about improving the health of an underserved population? We’re seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care in a correctional facility, where you'll have the opportunity to address a wide range of healthcare needs, from minor ailments to more complex conditions.
What You’ll Do :
✔ Conduct Medical Evaluations – Perform thorough assessments and document care for inmate patients in compliance with correctional health standards (NCCHC, ACA, PBNDS)
✔ Develop Treatment Plans – Create and implement care plans that address physical and mental health needs, incorporating relapse prevention strategies
✔ Prescribe & Monitor Medications – Write prescriptions and manage medications in line with state regulations and the approved formulary
✔ Collaborate with Healthcare Teams – Work closely with nursing staff, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care
✔ Maintain Medical Records – Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including medical histories, physical assessments, and discharge summaries
✔ Ensure Safety & Compliance – Uphold HIPAA, PREA regulations, and infection control protocols to ensure a safe healthcare environment
What You Bring :
✅ Education : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, certified Nurse Practitioner
✅ Licensure : Active RN license in the state and certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, DEA, CDS, and DEA-X licenses
✅ Experience : 2+ years providing direct patient care as a Nurse Practitioner (preferred)
✅ Skills : Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team
✅ Certifications : Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
✅ Availability : Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required
