Staff Accountant
Columbus, OH

Our client, a top distributor in their field, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role will support the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with various accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in monthly close processes and financial reporting
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare journal entries and account analyses
• Assist with inventory accounting and cost analysis
• Support budget preparation and variance analysis
• Help maintain fixed asset records
• Assist with audit preparation and support external auditors
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution or related industry
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
• Familiarity with inventory management systems a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
