Key Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:

• Execute reconciliations with meticulous attention to detail.
• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of prepaids and accruals, ensuring adherence to GAAP accounting standards.
• Oversee journal entries and facilitate intercompany transactions, ensuring smooth movement of entries between entities.
• Manage the intricacies of accruals, lease accounting, and prepaids, upholding financial accuracy.
• Work across multiple entities and handle extensive intercompany transactions.
• Utilize a variety of workbooks and Excel spreadsheets to efficiently manage large data sets.
• Adjust lease accounting due to significant growth in lease trailers, capitalizing them by contract to individual assets.
• Split all trailers into contracts into individual assets.

Essential Staff Accountant Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

• Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency with large data sets and functions such as VLOOKUP (VLU) and XLOOKUP (XLU) is crucial.
• Strong GAAP Knowledge: A solid grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is vital.
• Expertise in Reconciliations and journal entries: Demonstrated experience in reconciliations and journal entry management.

Pluses:

• NetSuite Proficiency: Familiarity with NetSuite is a strong advantage.
• BS Degree in Accounting or Finance: Preferred but not required.
• Relevant Industry Experience: Experience in logistics or start-up environments is a plus, showcasing adaptability in dynamic settings.
