About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Individual Giving to join its Development department. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven leader with a strong commitment to a progressive policy agenda. Responsibilities for this role include leading and overseeing the management of the Individual Giving team, supporting the Chief Development Officer with board recruitment, and carrying a portfolio of 75 six-figure and prospective donors. The role demands a proven track record in fundraising, particularly from individual donors, and the ability to enhance unrestricted funding while generating new programmatic support. The Vice President will also be expected to serve as a key leader in the Development department, balancing a rigorous travel schedule, and establishing credibility as an effective problem-solver. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of 10 years' of relevant work experience, and at least 5 years' of fundraising experience with principal gifts of $1 million or more. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of donor contacts in mission-aligned areas and a background in various progressive philanthropic sectors. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse, high-performing team. Familiarity with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) regulations is a plus, and a commitment to the mission of the company and a broad progressive agenda is required.
